    * Commends Engineer Muntari Sagir’s humanitarian interventions

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on wealthy individuals in the state to dedicate part of their resources to humanitarian and community development projects in support of government efforts.

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said the Governor made the appeal today during the commissioning of several projects executed by a philanthropist, Engineer Muntari Sagir, in Malumfashi Local Government Area.

Governor Radda noted that the projects commissioned include a healthcare centre at Al-Makiyayi, a block of three classrooms with an office at Nana Babajo College of Midwifery, Malumfashi, and the donation of an 18-seater bus to Government Girls Science Secondary School, Malumfashi.

Other projects executed by the philanthropist include a one-kilometre drainage system, completion of the perimeter fencing of Sambo Cemetery, and the construction of a fence at Sambo Primary School, all within Malumfashi town.

“If more individuals emulate this kind of gesture, the burden on government in providing infrastructure and social services will be significantly reduced,” Governor Radda said.

He commended Engineer Sagir for his contributions and urged him to sustain his philanthropic efforts.

“Sacrifices made for the sake of Allah will surely be rewarded abundantly. I encourage you to continue on this path of service to humanity,” the Governor added.

Governor Radda emphasized that partnerships with well-meaning individuals remain vital in accelerating development across communities.

Earlier, Engineer Muntari Sagir stated that the projects were funded from proceeds of his business ventures and are aimed at supporting development in his community.

“These interventions are part of my commitment to giving back to society and improving the lives of our people,” Engineer Sagir said.

He assured that all the educational and healthcare facilities provided are fully equipped to deliver quality services.

Engineer Sagir further pledged to construct a perimeter fence around another graveyard located behind Aliyu Primary School in Malumfashi.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Shamsuddeen Yahya, commended the philanthropist for his sustained contributions to the health sector over the past three years.

“These interventions include the establishment of laboratories, maternity wards, eye care units, and the upgrading of several healthcare centres,” Dr. Yahya said.

He described the contributions as impactful and complementary to government efforts in improving healthcare delivery across the state.

In the same vein, the Galadiman Katsina and District Head of Malumfashi, retired Justice Saddiq Abdullahi Mahuta, noted that Engineer Sagir’s contributions extend beyond the health sector.

He cited the renovation of the official residence of the Galadiman Katsina in Malumfashi as part of the philanthropist’s interventions.

“Engineer Sagir has remained a committed community developer whose efforts have positively impacted many lives,” Justice Mahuta said.

The event was attended by top government officials, traditional leaders, and key stakeholders in the state.
