Troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) have recorded significant operational successes across multiple theatres within the last 24 hours, effectively disrupting terrorist logistics networks, engaging hostile elements and safeguarding vulnerable communities through coordinated, intelligence-driven operations.

In the North-East Theatre, troops of 192 Battalion successfully executed an ambush on ISWAP/JAS terrorists in the vicinity of Kuranabassa Village, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, forcing the terrorists to withdraw in disarray towards the Mandara Mountains. Following the engagement, troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine loaded with 12 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, an AK-47 rifle top cover, and other sundry items.

In a related development, troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), intercepted three vehicles conveying suspected terrorist logistics along the Yunusari–Bukarti–Ka la/Gamari axis. The operation led to the arrest of 5 suspects and the recovery of assorted logistics items, including solar panels, water pumping machines, construction materials, mobile phones and cash, all suspected to be destined for terrorist enclaves.

Further consolidating ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal supply chains, troops of 12 Brigade conducted a snap checkpoint operation along the Obajana–Kabba Road in Kogi State. The troops intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected terrorist logistics, apprehended two suspected couriers and recovered 314 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, three AK-47 magazines, mobile phones and valid means of identification.

In the North-West Theatre, troops of 17 Brigade conducted offensive clearance operations across identified terrorist enclaves in Musawa and Matazu Local Government Areas of Katsina State. During the operations, several terrorist life-support structures were identified and destroyed in Gidan Mai-Gona, Gidan Dangodo, Sabongari Nagalawa, Kurna Dogon Tsamiya, Gidan Karo and Gidan Lawal Natapi villages, thereby denying criminal elements operational footholds.

In Plateau State, troops under Operation ENDURING PEACE responded swiftly to distress calls and rescued 12 civilians who were trapped by insurgents while injured victims were evacuated for prompt medical attention. Additionally, in the South-South and North-Central regions, troops sustained operational pressure on criminal networks. In Rivers State, troops discovered and safely handled approximately 3,250 litres of suspected illegally refined petroleum products along Refinery Road in Eleme Local Government Area, in line with extant operational directives.

In Taraba State, troops of 114 Battalion apprehended 9 suspected terrorist informants linked to a notorious criminal kingpin, while also dismantling identified hideouts used by criminal elements to coordinate their activities.

These operational outcomes underscore the Nigerian Army’s sustained commitment to dismantling terrorist and criminal networks, disrupting their logistics chains and protecting lives and property across the country. The NA remains resolute in maintaining the current operational tempo and calls on members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to support ongoing efforts aimed at restoring enduring peace and national security.
