The Kebbi State Government, has approved the dissolution of the Governing Council of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero (AFUSTA), following the recommendations of the Visitation Panel constituted to review the affairs of the institution.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, and made available to newsmen, in Birnin Kebbi, the State Capital, the decision was taken at a meeting of the State Executive Council as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the university for effective governance and improved academic standards.
According to the statement, and in line with the panel’s recommendations, the Vice Chancellor, along with the two Deputy Vice Chancellors (Academic and Administration), have been relieved of their appointments.
The statement stated that the Registrar and the Bursar have been removed, while the appointment of Abba Mohammed Adua has also been terminated, while Professor Samaila Arzika Mungadi appointed as the Sole Administrator of the university.
His mandate includes stabilizing the institution’s governance structure and restoring academic integrity, pending the reconstitution of a new Governing Council that will oversee the appointment of new principal officers and the decision takes immediate
