Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced that his administration has successfully fulfilled ninety percent of the promises made to the people of the state within three years of assuming office.

Governor Yusuf made this known on Saturday while receiving the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, who paid him a Sallah homage at the Government House, Kano.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Governor Yusuf stated that his government has remained committed to delivering democratic dividends through people-oriented policies and impactful developmental projects across various sectors.

He explained that significant progress has been recorded in education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, water supply, youth empowerment and economic development, all aimed at improving the living standards of residents and repositioning Kano State for sustainable growth.

The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to completing the remaining promises before the end of his tenure and sustaining the pace of development across the nooks and crannies of the state.

He assured the Emir and people of Rano Emirate of the timely expansion and dualisation of the Karfi–Rano Road, provision of fertiliser to farmers at subsidised rates, and the renovation of the Emir’s Palace, among other projects.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the people of Rano Emirate for their support, patience and confidence in his leadership, pledging to continue working tirelessly to justify the trust reposed in him.

Earlier, the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, commended the Governor for what he described as remarkable achievements recorded within three years of his administration.

The Emir praised Governor Yusuf for the completion of five-kilometre roads in Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Local Government Areas, as well as the continuation of the Kaluwaiwai Water Project.

He also appreciated the Governor’s efforts in securing the upgrade of Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and the conversion of the School of Rural Technology, Rano, to a Federal Polytechnic.

Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru assured the Governor of the continued support and cooperation of the people of the emirate towards sustaining peace, security and stability in Kano State and Nigeria at large.
