The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, was today presented with ICT facilities and instructional materials provided by the Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Government of Japan under a teacher capacity-building initiative.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal maqarphy media aide to the VC said the facilities were presented to the Vice-Chancellor by the Director of ICT, Dr. Ayotunde Alaba Fadele, alongside the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mallam Abdullahi Abdulkadir.
Recall that the equipment was received on behalf of the University by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Balarabe, in the company of the Dean of Students’ Affairs and the Director of ICT at an official handover ceremony organised by the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja on 2nd June, 2026.
The ICT facilities and instructional materials form part of the project titled “Capacity-Building of Teachers to Promote Continuous and Inclusive Access to Safe and Quality Education for Girls in West Africa,” supported by the Government of Japan and implemented through the Federal Ministry of Education and its development partners.
Inspecting the items, the Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Education and the Government of Japan for the intervention, noting that the facilities would further strengthen the University’s digital infrastructure and support effective teaching, learning, and research.
He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to the proper utilisation of the equipment in advancing technology-driven education and improving the quality of academic service delivery.
