The Senior Special Assistant on Religious Affairs to the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Isma’il Abdullahi Ibrahim Matazu has been appointed to the traditional title of Sarkin Hausawan Sudan by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk.
The appointment was conveyed through an official letter signed by the Emir of Daura.
According to the Emir, the honour was bestowed in recognition of Matazu’s outstanding contributions to the development, unity, and welfare of the Hausa community in Sudan.
“He has demonstrated remarkable dedication to community service, cultural preservation, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among Hausa people in Sudan,” the statement noted.
The Emir further commended Matazu’s commitment to humanitarian causes, as well as his support for both Islamic and modern education.
“He stands as a worthy ambassador of Hausa heritage and values beyond the borders of Nigeria,” the Emir added.
The conferment is expected to strengthen ties between the Daura Emirate and Hausa communities in Sudan, while promoting cultural identity, unity, and mutual understanding.
