The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Professor Yahaya Isa Bunkure, on Thursday, 11 June 2026, commissioned a newly upgraded, renovated, and furnished office complex at the institution.
The project was sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) under the 2025 Annual Intervention Programme and forms part of the efforts to improve administrative infrastructure and create a more conducive working environment for staff.
A statement signed by the media aide to the VC,Sani Lawal maqarphy said the upgraded office complex comprises modern office spaces, improved conveniences, office furniture, and other essential administrative support facilities designed to enhance efficiency, comfort, and effective service delivery.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Prof. Bunkure stated that the provision of infrastructure to support staff remains a key priority in promoting effective service delivery and advancing the University’s mandate.
He further expressed appreciation to TETFund for its continued interventions in addressing the infrastructural and operational needs of the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the University’s commitment to academic excellence must be complemented by the provision of modern and functional facilities capable of supporting staff in the discharge of their responsibilities.
In his remarks, the representative of the consultant firm, KLM Grand Consult Ltd., Arc. Olumide Omodiji, stated that the project was executed in strict compliance with standards and contemporary designs to ensure durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
Also speaking, Arc. Usman Jamiu, who represented the contracting firm, 5-8 Nigeria Limited, commended the University’s management and technical staff for their cooperation, professionalism, and guidance throughout the execution of the project.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by members of the University’s Management, including the Acting Registrar, Malam Shehu Iya Saidu; Acting Director of Works and Services, Engr. Ango; Acting Director of Maintenance, Engr. Tunde Ariyo; Acting Director of Procurement and Engr. Abdullahi Maiwada.
