The Chairman of the Agency’s Luggage Screening and Weighing Committee, Professor Mustapha Gwadabe, has urged pilgrims to avoid carrying any items that violate international airline regulations.

This was contained in a statement signed by the board public relations officer Ibrahim Datti issued to newsmen.

He stated that prohibited items include Zamzam water packed inside checked luggage, excessive quantities of perfume, knives, scissors, toy guns, explosive materials, and other similar items.

Professor Gwadabe explained that these measures have been put in place to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims as well as the aircraft.

He further warned that any pilgrim found carrying prohibited items will bear responsibility for the consequences, as aviation authorities will open and inspect such luggage and remove any restricted items in accordance with international baggage regulations.

He also emphasized that the Saudi airline responsible for transporting this year’s pilgrims is well known for its strict adherence to rules and regulations, without exception.
