The Kebbi State Government has declared Tuesday, June 16, 2026, a public holiday to mark the commencement of the Islamic New Year, 1st Muharram 1448 AH.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Hajiya Hafsat Ibrahim Tune and made available to newsmen in Birniin Kebb.
It said that the state government had declared Wednesday, June 17, 2026, to be the date for resumption of work.
“This is to inform the general public and civil servants that, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Nasir Idris, has approved the declaration of Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as a work-free day to enable public servants to celebrate the commencement of the Islamic New Year, 1448 AH“.
