    DG NILEST Hosts MSTI Nasarawa And NILEST Doma On Institutional Learning Visit

    In pursuit of the preparedness for the full take-off of the Doma NILEST Extension Centre, a four-Man Delegation comprising of the Honourable Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Management of the Extension Centre paid an Institutional strategic learning visit to Dr. Auwal Mustapha Imam Fnip the DG in the Institute’s Headquarters.

    The historic visit which was led by the Honourable Commissioner Honourable Gabriel Agbashi was paid to the DG on 22nd of June 2026. According to Agbashi the visit was strategic because NILEST being a specific Institution occupies a strategic position in the economy of Nasarawa State because of the Raw materials abundance in the State.

    The discussion of the meeting centered on the review on institutional structure and governance, training and academic programmes, workshop operations and production units, staffing requirements of the Centre, Equipment and Infrastructure needs; Revenue generation and sustainability strategy among others.

    The agreement on the visit revealed that the establishment of the Centre which is being fully funded by the Executive Governor, His Excellency (Engineer) Abdullahi A Sule CON, is very strategic not only in economic growth, revenue generation but, also in job creation for teeming Youths in the State.

    According to Dr. Imam, the Centre has a high potential and viability in revenue generation and its sustainability is not in doubt. The DG therefore, the State Governor for his commitment at ensuring that NILEST Doma Centre takes-off without delay.

    A statement signed by Remi Bashorun said,In the company of the Honourable Commissioner was Dr. Damina John Azi the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation, Mr. Alpha Peter John Director, Technology, Promotion, and Dr. Louse Ogbosi Executive Director NILEST Doma while, some Members of the Institute Management attended the meeting with the DG.
