Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of members of the Kano State Sports Commission and the management board of Kano Pillars Football Club to reposition sports administration and youth development in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
For the Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Tukur Babangida was named chairman. Other members are the ALGON representative, Alhaji Balarabe Surajo, Ibrahim Abba, Auwal Surajo representing higher institutions, a representative of persons with disabilities, Sunusi Ismail, Sani Musa Danja, Special Adviser on Youth Affairs, while Bashir Maizare will serve as secretary.
For the Kano Pillars Football Club management board, Ahmad Musbahu was appointed chairman. Members include Abba Galadima, Sharu Inuwa Rabiu, Fatima Ibrahim Abubakar, Bashir Idris, Abubakar Isa Dandago, Salisu Muhammad Kosawa, Ahmed Musa as sports ambassador, the chairman of the Kano Pillars Fans Club, Jamilu Tijani Yamadawa, Engr. Usman Mustapha, Murtala Umar, and Kabiru Usman.
Yusuf urged the appointees to use their experience to strengthen sports development, identify and nurture talent, and restore the glory of Kano Pillars. He expressed confidence that the new leadership would usher in professionalism, excellence, and achievement in the state’s sporting sector.
