Officials from Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria (NCAT) were at the Kaduna Geographic Information Service Service Centre on Tuesday, 23rd June 2026, seeking a lasting solution to issues surrounding land belonging to the institution which has been heavily encroached upon, as the College moves to expand its operations through the establishment of an international airport.

The encroachment issue has remained unresolved for a long period, with some portions of the affected land already having titles issued on them, making the matter more complex. Present at the meeting were traditional leaders from the affected communities, including the Hakimin Basawa, all working collectively towards finding an amicable resolution.

Among the immediate steps agreed upon was a proposed engagement between the traditional rulers and individuals involved ,after which a follow-up meeting will be held with Kaduna Geographic Information Service to arrive at a final resolution.

It is hoped that these engagements will produce the desired outcome, paving the way for Nigerian College of Aviation Technology to proceed with its expansion drive — a development expected to bring significant economic and developmental benefits to Kaduna State as a whole.
