Niger State governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has again emphasized on the need for people to co-exist peacefully with one another for sustainable growth.
A statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim Chief Press Secretary to the Governor The the farmer governor made the call when he paid a visit to the Emir of Kontagora, Muhammad Mu’azu Barau II at his palace.
Farmer Umaru Bago, who acknowledged the Emir’s efforts in ensuring unity among his subjects, called for more understanding and tolerance.
The farmer governor also cautioned some traditional title holders who engage in land grabbing to desist from such acts as his administration will not condone such.
He informed the Emir of the State government’s determination to rid the State of insecurity and appreciated security agencies for their efforts in curtailing the trend.
The farmer governor used the medium to call on farmers to desist from farming on road shoulders to avoid clashes with herders.
Farmer Bago also hinted the Emir of the decision of the State to reconstruct the Kontagora township road to further develop the town in line with his new niger agenda.
The governor equally commiserated with the Emir over the death of the Wazirin Kontagora and prayed that Allah forgives his transgressions and grants him entry into AljannatFirdausi.
The Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Muhammad Mu’azu Barau II in his remarks appreciated the farmer governor for his foresight in reconstructing the Kontagora township road and other developmental plans for the Emirate and the State at large.
