The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), has embarked on a series of official engagements focused on education, infrastructure development, women empowerment, and social welfare across Zaria Local Government.
A statement signed by Ishaq Galadima, Chief press secretary to the chairman said the day’s activities reflect the Council’s continued commitment to supporting impactful development initiatives and improving the quality of life of the people through strategic partnerships and community-oriented projects.
The Chairman attended the commissioning ceremony of reconstructed classroom blocks at LGEA Primary School, Zage Zagi, Unguwar Katuka, Kwarbai ‘A’ Ward.
The project was facilitated by the UBA Sani 2wice Movement under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner of Finance, Hon. Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed.
In his remarks, Engr. Jaga commended the initiative, describing it as a valuable contribution to improving the learning environment for pupils. He noted that providing quality educational infrastructure remains central to the administration’s efforts to strengthen basic education at the grassroots.
The Executive Chairman also attended the Speech, Prize-Giving and Graduation Ceremony of Mahmud International School, held at Alhudahuda College Hall, Kwarbai ‘B’ Ward, Zaria.
Addressing the gathering, he congratulated the graduating students on their achievements and encouraged them to remain disciplined, dedicated, and committed to academic excellence.
He also commended parents, teachers, and the school management for their continued investment in quality education and character development, reaffirming the Council’s support for institutions that nurture future leaders.
As part of his inspection tour, Engr. Jaga visited the ongoing construction site of the Women Development Centre located near Filin Idi, Katsinawa, Kofar Doka, Tukur-Tukur Ward.
He also inspected the construction site for the Primary and Secondary Schools for Persons with Disabilities and an Orphanage at Banzazzau Madarkaci, Kwarbai “A’ ward, Zaria.
In addition, the Chairman visited other ongoing project sites facilitated by the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen , Ph.D., GCON, Iyan Zazzau, as part of efforts to monitor the progress and quality of execution.
During the inspection, the Chairman expressed appreciation to the Speaker for his continued commitment to delivering impactful projects that enhance education, promote women empowerment, and improve the welfare of vulnerable members of society.
The day’s engagements demonstrate the administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality education, strengthening public infrastructure, promoting inclusive development, and improving the welfare of the people of Zaria.
The Executive Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that will continue to bring meaningful development and lasting benefits to communities across Zaria Local Government.
