The Commander, 31 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Kabir Rabiu, on 6 August 2026, reaffirmed the importance of sustained synergy, collaboration, and timely information and intelligence sharing among security agencies as critical enablers in the fight against banditry and other criminal activities in Niger State.
A statement signed by Captain Muhammad Shehu,Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations said the Brigade Commander made the assertion during operational and familiarisation visits to the Commander, 013 Quick Response Force (QRF), Nigerian Air Force, Group Captain KO Akinyosade, troops of 31 Artillery Brigade deployed at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, and the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP AA Elleman.
Speaking during the visits, Brigadier General Rabiu emphasised that contemporary security challenges require a unified approach among the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies. He noted that effective collaboration, intelligence sharing and coordinated operations remain indispensable to denying criminal elements freedom of action and ensuring lasting peace and security across the state.
The Brigade Commander commended the existing cordial relationship among the security agencies and called for its sustenance, assuring them of the Brigade’s unwavering commitment to supporting all collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing security within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility.
During his visit to troops deployed at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, Brigadier General Rabiu commended the troops for their dedication, resilience and commitment to duty. He urged them to remain disciplined, vigilant and professional in the discharge of their responsibilities. He further cautioned them against the wrongful use of social media and directed them to strictly comply with the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s policy and regulations governing the use of social media by military personnel. He also encouraged them to continue upholding the core values and ethical standards of the Nigerian Army.
In their separate remarks, the Commander, 013 Quick Response Force, Group Captain KO Akinyosade, and the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP AA Elleman, expressed appreciation to the Brigade Commander for the visits, describing them as timely and indicative of his commitment to strengthening inter-agency cooperation. They assured Brigadier General Rabiu of their maximum support, sustained collaboration and continuous intelligence sharing towards effectively combating banditry and other criminal activities, as well as enhancing the security of lives and property across Niger State.
The visits, which formed part of the Brigade Commander’s operational and familiarisation engagements, were climaxed with the signing of the visitors’ books, exchange of commemorative plaques and group photographs, symbolising the strong partnership and shared commitment of the security agencies towards achieving a safer and more secure Niger State.
