The Executive Committee of the Bache (Rukuba) Cultural Development Association (BCDA), led by its National President, Hon. Ati Ezekiel Aya Angai, on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Maxwell Dangana, at the GOC’s Conference Room, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.
A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Olumide Victor Olukoya Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 3 Division Nigerian Army said the visit provided an opportunity to strengthen the longstanding relationship between Headquarters 3 Division and its host community, while reaffirming the shared commitment of both parties to sustaining peace, security and development within the community and Plateau State at large.
Speaking during the visit, the National President of BCDA, Hon. Ati Ezekiel Aya Angai, expressed appreciation for the cordial and mutually beneficial relationship that has existed between the Division and the Bache (Rukuba) community. He assured the GOC of the Association’s willingness to sustain dialogue and deepen collaboration with the Nigerian Army, particularly 3 Division, towards creating a peaceful and conducive environment for residents.
Hon. Angai noted that the Bache (Rukuba) people recognise and appreciate the critical role of the Nigerian Army in maintaining peace, security and national stability. He emphasised that, as the immediate host community, they viewed their relationship with the Division as one that should be built on mutual respect, understanding, effective communication, cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
He stressed that the community aspired to be more than a geographical host, but a responsible partner in promoting peace, security and development. He therefore welcomed Major General Dangana to his new responsibility and expressed the community’s hope that his tenure would be characterised by professionalism, meaningful community engagement, mutual respect, peace and enduring achievements.
Responding, Major General Maxwell Dangana thanked the President and members of the BCDA for the visit, describing the engagement as important to fostering mutual understanding and strengthening relations between the Division and its surrounding communities.
The GOC reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the existing peaceful relationship with the host community, stressing that continuous communication, dialogue and collaboration remain essential to building trust and addressing issues that could affect peace and security.
He further noted that strong partnerships between security agencies and host communities are critical to promoting sustainable peace, security and development across Plateau State. He assured the delegation that the Division would continue to engage constructively with the community in the collective interest of all stakeholders.
