In a bid to strengthen inter-agency synergy, consolidate operational gains, and enhance security across Zamfara State, the newly appointed Acting Commander of 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Colonel J. Umaru, paid an official courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP A.M. Bello, psc+, MNIPS, CCNP, at the State Police Command Headquarters, Gusau.
A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar said during the visit, Colonel Umaru highlighted the critical importance of maintaining a united and coordinated front among security agencies operating within the state. He reaffirmed the commitment of 1 Brigade, under his leadership, to sustaining close collaboration, intelligence sharing, and joint tactical operations with the Nigeria Police Force, Zamfara State Command, in the collective effort to tackle banditry, insurgency, and other emerging security threats in the region.
In his response, CP A.M. Bello, psc+, MNIPS, CCNP, warmly welcomed the Acting Commander and congratulated him on his new appointment. The Commissioner emphasized that the prevailing security challenges in Zamfara State require a proactive, coordinated, and intelligence-driven approach by all security agencies.
CP Bello further assured Colonel Umaru of the Command’s unalloyed support and continued partnership with the Nigerian Army in ongoing joint security operations aimed at restoring lasting peace, protecting lives and property, and ensuring public safety across the state.
The visit concluded with a mutual commitment by both security chiefs to maintain seamless communication, intensify intelligence-led joint patrols and operations, strengthen information sharing, and deny criminal elements any opportunity to exploit ungoverned spaces within thestate.
