The Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force in rescuing all abducted victims in Borgu Local Government Area.
A statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said the IGP stated this when he paid a visit to the executive governor of Niger State, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago at the Government House Minna.
IGP Disu assured all Nigerlites and families of victims that the Police Force is working tirelessly to ensure that they bring back all their loved ones in the hands of the bandits even as he acknowledged that the police is working closely with other security agencies with series of meetings and intelligence sharing to achieve desired goals.
The Police boss also revealed that the Police is making significant progress and used the medium to appreciate the farmer governor for his cooperation and all the support he has been extending to the Niger State Police COMMAND.
In his response, the farmer governor appreciated the IGP for the visit and for the prompt action taken to rescue the kidnapped victims.
Farmer governor Bago who was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba also commended President Bola Tinubu for his timely and fatherly intervention through his directive to the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for rescue operation.
He again used the medium to advocate the use of non-kinetic approach as a complimentary tool to the kinetic approach deployed as means of ending the incesant cases of banditry and other terrorist activities.
The farmer governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to continue to support the Nigeria Police and other security agencies in stemming the tide of criminal activities.
Farmer Umaru Bago also commended the tireless efforts of the Niger State Police Commissioner, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman in addressing security challenges in the State especially his role in drastically reducing the menace of miscreants.
