The Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries and other senior retired public servants in Gombe State has expressed strong support for the gubernatorial candidacy and development vision of the APC flag bearer, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna.
A statement signed Ibrahim Sani Shawai, Spokesperson to Dr Jamil Gwamna said the support followed a series of interactive sessions between Dr. Gwamna and members of the Association at its Secretariat.
The discussions centred on the future of Gombe State, strengthening the civil service and improving the welfare of serving and retired public servants.
Dr. Gwamna outlined his agenda for economic growth, job and wealth creation, education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, youth and women empowerment, industrialisation and investment.
He commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his commitment to clearing inherited pension and gratuity obligations and pledged to sustain and improve the welfare of retirees if elected Governor.
Gwamna also promised to strengthen the civil service through regular training and retraining, timely promotions, prompt payment of salaries and other entitlements, and greater recognition of excellence in public service.
The meeting reflects the growing support for Dr. Gwamna’s candidacy amongst experienced public servants and other stakeholders across Gombe State.
