The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the third phase of the Renewed Hope Agenda skills acquisition training (RHEI 3) for over 31,000 Nigerian youths across the country.
Director General of the Directorate, Silas Ali Agara disclosed the development at the official orientation for the selected beneficiaries in Adamawa state on Thursday stressing that the initiative is an opportunity designed by the federal government through the Directorate, NDE for young and energetic Nigerians to acquire vocational skills to becoming independent and employers of labour.
Represented by his Special Assistant,Mal Abali Ibrahim, Agara said that the federal government under president Bola Tinubu is poised in providing the platforms to our younger generation to be useful to the society and themselves.
Agara advised the beneficiaries to be patient and attentive to the trainings for them noting that over 41,000 young Nigerians were trained in the first and second phases each with over 31,000 penciled down for the third phase,so that they will be employers of labour.
In her remarks the NDE state Coordinator in charge of Adamawa state, Hajiya Alisha Modu Fika said that the program was a direct expression of the President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at tackling unemployment, creating wealth, and rekindling hope for Nigerian youths, women and vulnerable groups through sustainable skills and entrepreneurship development.
Hajiya Modu stated that the orientation was very crucial designed to acquaint the beneficiaries rules, benefits and expectations of the program noting that a total of 4,350 applied for the program in the state but only 553 made the list after a thorough screening.
“Today, you are being inducted in to various employability schemes under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative which includes; Vocational Skills development,Small scale Enterprises, Rural Employment Promotion and Special Public Works.
“In Adamawa state,we have made adequate arrangements with all our seasoned and certified trainers to give you the best practical training that will make you self-reliant and employers of labour “.Modu maintained.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Gabriel Ndafte and Yusuf Ummul Jamil thanked NDE for the opportunity accorded them pledging to uphold to the rules and regulations guiding the program.
In a related development the Executive Director in charge of Rural Employment Promotion (REP) of the Directorate has inspected the 42 beneficiaries selected for the Agriculture Value Chain under the scheme urging them to be serious about their training being the backbone of the country’s economy.
Represented by an official from the head quarters Abuja,Mr.Nkem Ekeamadi who visited the beneficiaries at the former Governor Murtala Nyako Skills acquisition training center in Yola South local government area charging the trainees to hold the opportunity with all seriousness.
Ekeamadi told that the trainers are experts in the Agricultural sector and will be taught in crop production, Livestock production and Aquaculture or fish farming.
