    WTD: Katsina Teachers’ Welfare is Non-Negotiable— Governor Radda

    Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has celebrated teachers in Katsina State and across the world on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, describing them as the true foundation of development and architects of the state’s future.

    A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said Governor Radda commended teachers for their dedication, sacrifice and resilience, noting that their impact extends far beyond the classroom in shaping character, knowledge and responsible citizenship.

    The Governor reaffirmed that teachers’ welfare remains a central pillar of his administration’s Building Your Future agenda, with deliberate, practical interventions to restore dignity to the profession.

    Governor Radda particularly noted key strides already recorded by the administration.

    “Prompt payment of salaries, promotions and benefits as and when due; Payment of special rural allowances to teachers in hard-to-reach areas; Construction of three Teachers’ Training Centres across the three senatorial zones of Katsina, Daura and Funtua with the Katsina centre currently under construction,” the Governor revealed.

    The Governor equally noted the provision of 3,000 electric bikes to ease mobility for rural teachers; distribution of tablet devices to enhance teaching and learning; provision of refurbished loan facilities for teachers; and sustained capacity building and training programmes, with more in the pipeline.

    He recalled that at the 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebration, the State Government honoured excellence by rewarding 30 outstanding teachers with brand new motorcycles and N100,000 each, while 14 distinguished principals received N200,000 each plus an additional N200,000 incentive.

    Governor Radda assured that more welfare packages and professional development opportunities will be rolled out to further motivate teachers and improve learning outcomes across public schools in the state.

    He urged teachers to remain steadfast in their noble calling and prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, strength and reward for their service.
