The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Amb. Baba Ahmad Jidda, OFR, has commended the University Management for making skills acquisition training compulsory for all final-year students.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal Maqarphy Media aide to the VC said the commendation was made when some products produced by final-year students under the University’s Compulsory Skills Acquisition Programme were presented to the Governing Council.

The items, which included premium bedding sets produced by the students during the skills development programme, were displayed to the Pro-Chancellor and other members of the Governing Council by the Desk Officer of Directorate for Skills Development and Linkages, Mr. Yushau Usman, alongside Nafisa Adamu.

While explaining the products, the representatives highlighted the practical skills acquired by the students through the programme, noting that the training was designed to equip graduating students with useful entrepreneurial and vocational skills beyond their academic qualifications.

Commending the initiative, the Pro-Chancellor described the training as a good initiative that would contribute to empowering students with practical skills.
Amb. Jidda assured the Directorate of the Council’s readiness to support its activities whenever necessary, noting the importance of initiatives that enhance students’ practical knowledge and self-reliance.
