    14 BRIGADE NIGERIAN ARMY HOLDS LECTURES ON ELECTORAL DUTIES, PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

    The Headquarters 14 Brigade Nigerian Army has organised a two day lecture series aimed at equipping troops with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively discharge their responsibilities during electoral operations in Nigeria.

    A statement signed by Captain Mazinho Attah,Assistant Director Army Public Relations ,14 Brigade Nigerian Army Ohafia, Abia State said the programme focused on enhancing professional conduct, strengthening command responsibility, and promoting strict compliance with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement during elections.

    The programme which was held for two-days had lectures on topics like; “Enhancing Professional Conduct of Armed Forces Personnel During Election in Nigeria.” which emphasised the need for discipline, neutrality, integrity and professionalism among military personnel deployed in support of electoral activities.

    Also, on the topic, “Improving Compliance with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement by Armed Forces of Nigeria During the Election.” The lecture highlighted the importance of adherence to established military regulations, lawful conduct, and professional standards during electoral operations. 

    The final lecture on the topic, “Application of Rules of Engagement in the Employment of the Armed Forces During Electoral Operations in Nigeria.” The presentation examined the importance of applying the rules of engagement appropriately during electoral operations, with emphasis on lawful conduct, restraint, accountability, and the responsible use of military authority.

    In his closing remarks, the Commander, 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General AM Dikko commended the resource persons and participants for their contributions and active engagement throughout the lectures. He emphasised the importance of professionalism, discipline, and strict adherence to established rules and regulations in the discharge of electoral duties.

    The lecture programme reaffirmed 14 Brigade Nigerian Army’s commitment to capacity building by imparting troops with the necessary knowledge and skills required for the effective, professional, and responsible performance of their electoral duties.
