Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed sorrow over the recent attack in Chiromawa, Garun Malam Local Government Area, assuring residents of continued protection of lives and property.
A statement signed by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa Director-General, Media and Publicity Government House, Kano said the Governor gave the assurance last week during a visit to the community, where he sympathised with the Sarkin Noma of Kano State, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo, who was abducted during the incident.

He also condoled with families of those who lost their lives and visited residents who sustained injuries.
The Governor, who was in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah when the attack occurred, prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
He also prayed to Almighty Allah to prevent a recurrence of such incidents in Chiromawa and other parts of the state.
Governor Yusuf assured residents that the state government was intensifying efforts to strengthen security through collaboration with relevant security agencies.

He disclosed that he had discussed measures to improve security operations in Kano with the Minister of Defence, (State) H.E. Muhammad Bello Matawall
The Governor urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information about suspicious movements and activities to security agencies.
He also called on residents to report anyone suspected of harbouring criminals or providing support to bandits and kidnappers.
Governor Yusuf stressed that security was a collective responsibility, urging traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, and residents to work closely with the government and security agencies.
Speaking on behalf of those affected, the Sarkin Noma of Kano State, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo, thanked the Governor for his concern and support.
He prayed for lasting peace and security in Kano State and Nigeria.
