The member of the Adamawa state House of Assembly representing Nassarawo/Binyere in Mayo-Belwa local government area, Hon.Babangida Mohammed Njidda has dismissed the allegation against him about refusing to resign from his former political party, the ruling All progressives Congress APC to the Allied People’s Movement APM for the 2027 election.

Recall that, some social media platforms have published that some stakeholders from Nassarawo Binyere constituency are alledging that Hon.Njidda didn’t resign his membership from the APC and had been cleared and shortlisted by the INEC to contest for the state Assembly seat of the constituency under the APM in the forthcoming 2027 polls which generated serious controversy in the area.

However reacting to the development in a mobile phone interview yesterday, Hon. Njidda denied the allegation of double party membership against him stressing that the stuff came to him as a surprise knowing fully that he had resigned as provided by the laid down electoral process.

‘The information being peddles around by some media online outlets is misleading, and not correct because I followed all constitutional and electoral processes to join the Allied People’s Movement APM to emerged the party’s candidate to vie for the position of state Assembly Memb er representing Nassarawo/Binyere cons tiuency.

“It is true I was formally in the ruling All progressives Congress, APC where I was initially voted in to the present seat,I am occupying as a state legislator but lost a return ticket at the last primary election of the party. But after wide consultations with my constituents and political allies,I officially resigned from the APC on the 15th August 2026 and joined the APM from my ward level as provided by the law.

“So, the insinuation that I didn’t resign is nothing more than imagination of the mischief makers behind the fake news just for political reasons but one thing remains sacrosanct that I, Babangida Mohammed Njidda will always follow due process in what ever circumstances I found my humble self because I cherish my dignity and reputation.

“I therefore appeal to my supporters and constituents, the public as well as concerned authorities to disregard the peddled misinformation as well as the media to always cross check their news items before going to the press and to be the guided by the professional ethics of their noble calling”. Njidda emphasized.
