Katsina State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has disclosed that his administration has completed 1,070 road projects across the Funtua Senatorial Zone, with development interventions reaching communities in several wards.
A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammed Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said Governor Radda made this disclosure on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the District Head of Funtua, Alhaji Idris Sambo Idris, as part of his engagements ahead of the presentation of his administration’s Building Your Future scorecard at the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 Campaign Flag-Off for Funtua Zone.

The Governor expressed appreciation to the traditional institution, community leaders and residents for their warm reception and continued engagement with his administration.
“Nearly four years have passed since we first came to Funtua to seek your support. We made commitments to the people, and they also made commitments to us. Today, we are encouraged by the progress recorded,” he said.
Governor Radda highlighted investments in education and infrastructure, particularly the establishment of a university in Funtua and the construction and rehabilitation of roads across the senatorial zone.
He thanked the traditional rulers, elders and residents for their cooperation, assuring them that his administration would continue to pursue development projects within available resources.
The Governor also called for prayers, unity and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, including governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates.
Earlier, the District Head of Funtua, Alhaji Idris Sambo Idris, welcomed the Governor and his delegation, commending the administration for its road projects and other development initiatives.
The traditional ruler noted that the projects had benefited Funtua and neighbouring communities, urging the government to sustain its infrastructure development efforts.
He appealed to the Governor to consider constructing a bypass linking the outskirts of Funtua towards Kurami to divert heavy-duty vehicles travelling between Sokoto and Kano away from the town centre.

According to him, the heavy traffic passing through the town puts pressure on the road network, making the proposed bypass important for easing congestion and protecting the newly constructed roads.
Those in attendance included the Deputy governor Hon Faruk Lawal, Director-General of the Tinubu–Dikko Campaign, Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa; APC Chairman, Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa; Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari; senatorial and constituency candidates; State House of Assembly candidates; and other top government officials.
