    NAAS GRADUATES STUDENTS FOR YEAR 2026 FIRST QUARTER COURSES

    …… Commandant hails junior commanders’ readiness for combat operations

    The Nigerian Army Armour School has graduated students of the year 2026 First Quarter Courses. The ceremony was held at Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya Auditorium, Obienu Barracks Bauchi State on 11 April, 2026.

    A statement signed by Major Adeyemi Akinyele Adekunle Ag Deputy’ director army public relations headquarters Nigerian army Armoured Corps said the combined courses which commenced on 9 January 2026 comprised the Armour Platoon Commanders Course, Tactics Instructors Course, Recce Auto Instructors Course, Tank Auto Instructors Course, Recce Weapon Instructors Course, Tank Weapon Instructors Course, and Communication Instructors Course.

    In his address, the Commandant, Major General AH Ahmed, thanked God for the successful completion of the seven courses embarked upon early this year. He commended the graduating students for their hard work, dedication to duty and commitment to training while on course.

    Major General Ahmed described the Armour Platoon Commanders Course as a key initiative of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps to produce well-trained Junior Commanders capable of leading troops to victory. He said the course had equipped the officers with skills and knowledge needed to perform in theatres where the Army is combating terrorism, kidnapping, insurgency and banditry.

    He also noted that exercises and leadership studies introduced during the course were aimed at enhancing critical thinking and emotional intelligence among the Junior Commanders.

    The Commandant congratulated officers from the Infantry, Signals and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Corps’ who attended the Armour Platoon Commanders Course, urging them to apply the knowledge gained to improve combat decision-making when deployed.

    Highlights of the event included the presentation of certificates, awards to outstanding students and group photographs.
