    Gov. Buni Emerges Unopposed Candidate of Yobe East Senatorial Zone…Calls for Unity

    His Excellency Gov. Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN was today returned as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress forYobe East Senatorial zone.

    A statement signed by Mal Mannan Mohammed DG press and media affairs to the Governor said Gov. Buni, the only aspirant was returned unopposed after a motion duly moved by the incumbent Senator, Musa Mustapha and seconded by House of Reps member, Hon. Lawan Shettima.

    Chairman of the APC electoral Committee, Amb. Babagana Ajimi, after putting a question to vote, and was unanimously affirmed as the sole, unopposed candidate of the party.

    The Minister of Police Affairs, Sen. Ibrahim Gaidam, commended party faithful in zone A for conducting themselves peacefully and cooperating with their leaders.

    Gov. Buni expressed appreciation with the peaceful conduct of the process “let me also appreciate the Association of Zone A Political Office holders and Public officers who generously contributed to purchase the Nomination and Expression of interest forms for me”.

    He said “over the years, Yobe East has demonstrated unprecedented political maturity and stability pushing the course and development of democracy in the state.

    “Let me specially appreciate the incumbent Senator representing the zone, Senator Musa Mustapha, who has shown exceptional traits of a fine gentleman and democrat.

    “He unconditionally succumbed to the consensus mode of the primary election for the governorship of the state adopted by the party, and relinquished his governorship aspiration with great humility. This sacrifice will never be in vain insha Allah” the Gov. said.

    Gov. Buni accepted the nomination saying “l humbly accept this offer and submit myself for the contest of the senatorial office for Yobe East Senatorial zone.

    “I pledge to put in my best at the National Assembly as your representative, placing the overall interest of the people above any other interest” Buni said.

    He called on other aspirants to embrace the decision of the party, and support the aspiration of Baba Malam Wali for a more united family.

    Gov. Buni urged the party hierarchy and the stakeholders to commence mobilization, and map out strategies to deliver Yobe state to APC.

    “We should ensure massive participation of the electorates for the success of our candidates and re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for a huge and unprecedented victory” Buni emphasized.
