……..Beneficiaries to Pay ₦20,000 Per Bag Against ₦50,000 Market Price.
Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, His Excellency Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, Marafan Sokoto, has donated 85 trucks of fertilizer to support farmers across the state.
A statement signed by Hon Ibrahim Muhammad,Danmadamin Birnin Magaji, chairman publicity committee said the donation was disclosed by Dr. Lawal M. Liman Gabdon Kaura, Chairman of the Senator Yari Political Organization and Chairman, State Distribution Committee, shortly after the committee meeting held in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital on Monday, 22nd June, 2026.
According to Dr. Liman, the intervention is designed to cushion the impact of rising costs of farmers inputs ahead of the farming season.
*Distribution Breakdown:*
1. Each of the eight Local Government Areas in Zamfara North and Central Zones will receive 5 trucks of fertilizer.
2. Zamfara West Senatorial District, being Senator Yari’s constituency, will receive 6 trucks per LGA.
Dr. Liman emphasized that beneficiary selection will be based strictly on merit, not political sentiment. “The beneficiaries must be genuine farmers who cannot afford fertilizer at the current market price,” he stated.
To ensure sustainability and responsible use, each farmer will pay a subsidized rate of ₦20,000 per bag, against the current market price of ₦50,000 per bag.
The Chairman urged farmers and residents of the state to make judicious use of the support and called on the people of Zamfara and Nigeria to remember Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, Marafan Sokoto, Zamfara State, and Nigeria in their daily prayers.
