Headquarters 12 Brigade Nigerian Army has emerged overall winner of the just concluded 2 Division Inter Brigade Warrant Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers Competition 2026, following an impressive performance across a series of demanding military events designed to enhance leadership, professionalism and operational effectiveness.
The four day competition, held from 7 to 10 July 2026 at Chari Maigumeri Barracks, Lokoja, brought together Warrant Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers from formations under Headquarters 2 Division Nigerian Army. Participating formations included Headquarters 4 Brigade, Headquarters 12 Brigade, Headquarters 22 Armoured Brigade, Headquarters 32 Artillery Brigade, Headquarters 42 Engineer Brigade and Headquarters 2 Division Garrison. The competition provided a platform to assess participants’ military proficiency, physical fitness, leadership qualities and teamwork through activities including drill, combat swimming, combat race and obstacle crossing, map reading, shooting and weapon handling.
At the end of the keenly contested event, Headquarters 12 Brigade emerged overall winner with a total of 460 points. Headquarters 2 Division Garrison secured second position with 430 points, while Headquarters 4 Brigade finished third with an equal score of 430 points but placed behind on the basis of time recorded during the obstacle crossing event. Headquarters 32 Artillery Brigade placed fourth with 370 points, Headquarters 22 Armoured Brigade came fifth with 300 points, while Headquarters 42 Engineer Brigade finished sixth with 260 points.
