KANO —— The governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, has predicted that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will serve only one term in office, expressing confidence that the opposition would unseat the administration in the next election.

Gwarzo made the assertion while addressing supporters during affirmation of his candidacy, reaffirmed the resolve to take his former boss to cleaners at the polls.

“We are the followers of Madugu. We are here, and we continue to pray day and night. By the will of Allah, this government will be defeated in a single stroke,” Gwarzo said.

The former Deputy governor’s remarks come amid increasing political activity in Kano as parties and aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The NDC flagbearer maintained that his supporters remained united and committed to what he described as a mission to bring a new direction to Kano State.

According to him, the growing enthusiasm among members of the Kwankwasiyya movement reflects widespread confidence that political change is achievable through democratic means.

Gwarzo argued that sustained grassroots mobilization and public engagement would play a decisive role in determining the outcome of the next governorship election.

He urged his supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding while intensifying efforts to expand the party’s reach across the state.

The governorship hopeful also called on residents to assess the performance of political leaders and make informed choices when the time comes to cast their votes.

Neither Governor Yusuf nor officials of the state government had immediately responded to Gwarzo’s comments at the time of filing this report.
