The 3 Division Nigerian Army commenced activities marking the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) with a solemn Friday Juma’at Prayer at the Division Central Mosque and an Interdenominational Church Service at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.
A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Olumide Victor Olukoya Acting Deputy’ director army public relations,3 division Nigerian army said the two-day spiritual engagements brought together officers, soldiers, and their families in thanksgiving and reflection on the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army in defence of national unity and territorial integrity.
The Juma’at Prayer which was held on Friday, 26 June 2026, featured prayers for the continued peace, progress, and success of the Nigerian Army and the nation at large. This was followed by the Interdenominational Church Service at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment on Sunday 28 June 2026.
Delivering the Chief of Army Staff’s(COAS) goodwill message to the congregation, the General Officer Commanding(GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation ENDURING PEACE Maj Gen Folusho Oyinlola, reiterated the COAS’ appreciation to officers, soldiers, and their families for their resilience, commitment, and unwavering support to the Army’s constitutional mandate.
The GOC stated that “The Chief of Army Staff acknowledges the spiritual foundation that sustains our troops in the field. As we mark NADCEL 2026, we rededicate ourselves to duty, discipline, and selfless service to Nigeria.”
The Church Service was marked by uplifting worship and unity. Highlights of the service included special renditions by the Combined Kids Choir, the Christian Women Fellowship, and the Combined Choir, which drew commendation from the congregation for their spirit of praise and excellence.
The GOC, Principal Staff Officers, Commanders, officers, soldiers and their families attended both events. 3 Division continues to reinforce the Nigerian Army’s bond with its personnel, families, and host community through faith, unity, and shared purpose.
