Female Troops Charged as NAWC Concludes Second Quarter Workshop 2026
Female personnel of the Nigerian Army Women Command have been charged to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during training to enhance operational efficiency and effectively tackle emerging security threats confronting the nation.

The charge was given by the Special Guest of Honour, Brigadier General P Elayo, during the closing ceremony of the NAWC Second Quarter Workshop 2026, which attracted serving and retired senior military officers, representatives of sister services, paramilitary agencies, resource persons and other distinguished guests from across the security sector.
Delivering the workshop appraisal, Brigadier General Elayo commended the Commander of the Command, Brigadier General MS Adamu, for organising what he described as a timely and impactful programme. He noted that the theme of the workshop was apt considering the prevailing security realities within Nigeria and across the globe.
The Special Guest of Honour also appreciated the resource persons and facilitators for their insightful presentations and intellectual contributions, which significantly enriched the deliberations throughout the workshop. He further emphasised the need for continuous capacity building, professionalism, discipline and collaboration among security agencies to effectively combat contemporary threats such as terrorism, insurgency, cybercrime, kidnapping and other forms of criminality.
In his closing remarks, the Commander NAWC Brigadier General Adamu expressed appreciation to all dignitaries, participants and invited guests for their active participation and valuable contributions throughout the workshop. He also commended officers and personnel from sister services and paramilitary agencies for their cooperation and commitment towards achieving the objectives of the programme.
According to him, the contemporary security environment demands innovation, professionalism, intelligence sharing and stronger synergy among security stakeholders. He noted that the workshop provided an important platform for exchanging ideas, reviewing operational strategies and repositioning the Command to effectively tackle evolving security threats.
One of the highlights of the closing ceremony was the presentation of certificates to participants who successfully completed the workshop. Commendation letters were also presented to some soldiers who distinguished themselves through outstanding performance, dedication to duty and exemplary conduct during the training period.
The ceremony also featured goodwill messages from invited dignitaries and representatives of participating agencies, who lauded the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining collaboration with the NAWC in promoting national peace and security.
A vote of thanks was delivered by the Commanding Officer of the 1 Women Battalion Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel BO Evevakpo, who expressed gratitude to all participants and stakeholders for contributing to the success of the workshop
The event concluded with the introduction of a new model fragmental jacket and a group photograph.
