    COAS CELEBRATES EID-EL-KABIR WITH TROOPS OF 14 BRIGADE AT FOB ISUOCHI

    Troops of 14 Brigade Nigerian Army stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB), Isuochi in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, on Wednesday 27 May 2026 hosted a special Eid-el-Kabir luncheon organized in honour of troops serving within the Joint Task Force Operation UDO KA area of responsibility.

    This was contained in a statement signed by Mazinho Attah acting assistant director army public relations 14 brigade Nigerian army ohafia Abia State issued to newsmen.

    In his welcome remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA, Major General Oluremi Ayobami Fadairo, warmly welcomed the representative of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), the Corps Commander of the Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (NAEME), Major General Adeyinka Ayodeji Adereti and other distinguished guests to the Forward Operating Base.

    The GOC appreciated the resilience, dedication and sacrifices of the troops in ensuring peace and security across the area of operations. He further extended heartfelt Eid Mubarak wishes to all officers and soldiers, urging them to remain steadfast and professional in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

    Also speaking during the occasion, the Mayor of Umunneochi Local Government Area Mr Sunday Afurobi commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security within the local government area. He noted that the prevailing peace currently enjoyed by residents was largely due to the professionalism, sacrifices and operational successes of troops deployed in the area.

    In his vote of thanks, the Commanding Officer 143 Rangers Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel B Magaji, expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, the GOC 82 Division, senior officers and all guests for identifying with troops during the festive celebration. He reaffirmed the commitment of personnel of the battalion and 14 Brigade towards sustaining operational successes and ensuring lasting peace in the region.

    Highlights of the event included interactions between troops and senior officers, goodwill messages and a group photograph which marked a successful conclusion of the memorable Eid-el-Kabir luncheon with troops of 14 Brigade. The event also had in attendance, Commander 14 Brigade Commanding Officer’s, sister security agencies, lawmaker’s representing Umunneochi State Constituency Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ume Mathias and the Executive Chairman of Umunneochi Local Government Area, Sunday Afurobi amongst other dignitaries.
