The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu has commended troops across various theatres of operations whose bravery has significantly contributed to the successes recorded in the ongoing operations against all forms of insecurity threatening the peace and stability of the nation .
Lieutenant General Shaibu made the commendation during the Chief of Army Staff Eid – EL – Kabir Luncheon for troops of 81 Division and families held at headquarters 81 Division Garrison parade ground Dodan Barracks .
The Chief of Army Staff ,represented by the Corp commander , Nigeria Army Ordnance Corp , Major General Abdullahi Ibrahim while commending the troops said their sacrifices and Professionalism have remained the driving force behind the operational achievements of the Nigerian Army .
. ” Certainly ,the nation remains proud of your selfless service and dedication to safeguarding Nigeria’s Sovereignty and territorial integrity”
Lieutenant General Shaibu emphasised that as the nation celebrates this season the military also honour the memories of their gallant heroes who paid the supreme price in the defence of the nation.
The General officer commanding 81 Division , Major General Adebayo Babalola said the luncheon was a routine that is being carried out at different locations all over the country.
Major General Babalola pointed out that the occasion is in furtherance of the Chief of Army staff philosophy of troops welfare as it was the bedrock of improving their performance .
” We have never had it so good the way it is , as funds are being provided for troops to be taken care of”
The luncheon ended with traditional dancers from Yoruba ibo and Hausa, with Food items and cash given to wounded soldiers and widows .
In another development there was inauguration of 81 Division Garrison Constructed remodeled and refurbished projects .
The commander headquarters 81 Division Garrison Dodan barracks Brigadier General Ahmed Getso said the inauguration is another significant milestone in their collective efforts towards improving operational efficiency, strengthening security architecture and enhancing the working environment within the Garrison since his 4 months of assumption .
Brigadier General Getso noted that the Quarter Guard being the first point of military contact and a symbol of regimental discipline have been reconstructed to reflect the standard and imagine expected of a modern military formation.
Also the main gate will further improve access control and security management within the headquarters environment ..
Other Projects inaugurated were the car park and operations room.
