    EID-EL-KABIR: COAS CELEBRATES SALLAH LUNCHEON WITH TROOPS OF 4 BRIGADE AT FOB EHOR IN EDO STATE

    The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM, on Thursday, 28 May 2026, organised a special Sallah luncheon with troops of 4 Brigade at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Ehor in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State.

    Addressing the troops, the COAS stated that Eid-el-Kabir is a significant festival that highlights the essential virtues of sacrifice, faith, and deep spiritual reflection, all of which resonate with the ethos and professional calling of soldiering. He commended the troops for their unalloyed loyalty, uncommon courage, resilience, and steadfast commitment, which have continued to contribute significantly to the successes recorded in the ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, oil theft, and other forms of criminality threatening the peace and stability of the nation. He further disclosed that the nation remains proud of the troops’ selfless service and dedication towards safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

    The COAS, represented by the Commander, 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun, while delivering the COAS goodwill message, assured the troops of the Chief of Army Staff’s firm commitment to addressing the welfare concerns of personnel and members of the Nigerian Army community. He urged them to continue upholding the core values of the Nigerian Army in all their engagements. He further expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for his unwavering support, steadfast leadership, and continued commitment to the welfare, operational effectiveness, and institutional development of the Armed Forces.

    Earlier in his welcome address, the Officer Commanding, Forward Operating Base Ehor, Captain Ahmad Mohammed, stated that it was an honour and great privilege to warmly welcome guests to FOB Ehor for the COAS Sallah luncheon with troops. He disclosed that the event provided an opportunity to reaffirm their dedication and inspire one another towards achieving the highest standards of duty. He thanked the Brigade Commander for his leadership and continued encouragement, which have motivated the troops to strive for excellence in all their engagements. He equally appreciated the Chairman of Uhunmwonde Local Government Area, represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Agie Joseph Samuel; the Enogie of Ehor, Chief Joseph Ogiehor JP, represented by Chief Peter Idemudia; as well as heads of other security agencies in Ehor for honouring the invitation.

    Highlights of the event included a luncheon, cultural dance performances, presentation of souvenirs and morale boosting songs.
