The Chairman of the Board of Management, ABUTH Zaria, Hon. Muhammad Lawal Liman, Gabdon Kauran Namoda has conducted an inspection tour of three newly commissioned facilities: the Pharmacy Quality Control Laboratory, the ABUTH Trauma Center, and the Renewed Hope Specialist Hospital, Dumbi.
A statement signed by Haruna Ibrahim head of information and public relations of the hospital said during the inspection, the Chairman was briefed on the operations of the QC Lab, a key component of ABUTH’s Quality Management System.
The lab is designed to ensure all pharmaceuticals used in the hospital meet official standards. It comprises two core units,
Chemistry Laboratory, which conducts chemical analysis and assay of drug components
Microbiology Laboratory Handles sterility, microbial limit, and contamination testing
Drugs procured for hospital use are randomly selected upon delivery and subjected to rigorous testing against pharmaceutical and NAFDAC- approved standards. Drugs that meet standards are cleared for patient use substandard drugs are rejected Where necessary, NAFDAC is notified for regulatory action
This system significantly reduces the risk of substandard and falsified medicines reaching patients.
The Chairman was informed that the ABUTH Pharmacy Quality control Laboratory (ABUTH QC Lab), is the first of its kind in the whole country
The Chairman was also informed on the newly commissioned Trauma Center which was designed for the management of patients with serious physical injuries, wounds, and other trauma-related emergencies.
It is equipped for rapid assessment, resuscitation, surgical intervention, and post-trauma care, with the aim of improving survival and recovery rates for accident and emergency cases in the region.
The Chairman was taken on a guided tour of the Renewed Hope Specialist Hospital, Dumbi. Kaduna road. He expressed appreciation for the Federal Government’s investment in expanding specialist healthcare access and commended the quality of infrastructure and equipment on ground.
Hon. Muhammad Lawal Liman commended ABUTH Management and the Federal Ministry of Health for delivering projects that align with the Renewed Hope Agenda. He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance patient safety, service delivery, and healthcare outcomes in Nigeria
The Chairman was taken round the hospital by the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, Director of Administration and other members of the Top Management Committee.
