    LG POLLS : ADSIEC present certificates of return to elected chairmen

    The twenty one (21) newly elected local government council chairmen have been presented with certificates of return by the State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) in Adamawa state.

    Presenting the certificates to the elected chairmen, the chairman of the commission, ADSIEC.Mohammed Umar Madagali described the election as a successful conclusion of a critical phase in democratic process congratulating them(chairmen) of the opportunity to contribute their quota in governance.

    Umar Madagali stressed that it was a day that symbolizes the triumph of the people’s will, the strength of our democratic institutions, and our collective commitment to participatory governance at the grassroots level.

    “Today marks the successful conclusion of a critical phase in our democratic process.

    “The Certificates of Return being presented today are not merely documents, they represent the trust and confidence reposed in you by the electorate. They are a mandate to serve with integrity, accountability, fairness and dedication to the welfare of your people.

    “I commend electoral officials, securities agencies, political parties, observers and all stakeholders whose contributions ensured a peaceful, credible and successful electoral process.

    ” As the newly elected leaders prepare to assume office, I urge them to see their victory as a call to selfless service. The expectations of the people are high and the challenges before our communities require visionary leadership, inclusiveness, transparency and genuine commitment to sustainable development”. Madagali emphasized.

    He also charged them to remember that democracy flourishes when elected officials work in partnership with the people they serve, encouraging them (elected chairmen) to embrace unity, promote peace and prioritize the collective interests of their respective Local Government Areas.

    Delivering vote of thanks on behalf of the elected chairmen, the chairman of Michika local government council and Hon. Paul Tumba expressed appreciation to the people and commission for the opportunity to serve, pledging to do programs with direct bearing on the populace in their respective councils.

    Answering questions from the journalist, Newly elected chairman of Yola North local government area, Hon. Jibrin Ibrahim jimeta expressed gratitude to the people of his local government for the opportunity given to him to lead the council for the second time.

    Ibrahim jimeta said this tenure will be for consolidation of the existing programs so that posterity will be favourable to him and his team calling on all and sundry to support and cooperate with his administration.

    Jimeta pledged to carry every body along, promising to have an open door policy for constructive criticism and observation so that the desired goal can be achieved.

    Also in her response, the elected chairperson of Toungo local government council, Hajiya Hauwa Ahmadu stated that the opportunity given to her will be a good platform for her and her team to empower women and youth in the council.

    Hajiya Ahmadu promised that this golden chance given to her will be utilized judiciously in transforming the border local government council to the optimal benefit of the people.
