    Kebbi Police Command Arrests Mamudawa/Boko Haram, Lakurawa Terrorists

    The Kebbi state Police Command says, Police Mobile operatives at Illo Division, Bagudo LGA, acting on credible intelligence while on patrol along the Illo–Lolo road, intercepted and arrested three suspected members of Mamudawa/Boko Haram elements.

    Briefing newsmen at the Command’s Headquarters Birnin Kebbi, State Commissioner of Police, Umar Hadejia stated that Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were linked to movements around the area during the attack that claimed the lives of three Federal Road Safety Corps personnel at ILLO.

    He said Police Mobile Force deployed on special duty along the Ka’oje– Bakin Ruwa road in Bagudo Local Government Area intercepted and arrested four suspects which after investigation found thrir involvement in armed banditry-related activities within SODA forest in Bagudo.

    The Police Commissioner said acting on information from some vigilante members of Zazzagawa Village in Argungu LGA, one Murtala Sani of Zazzagawa Village was arrested on suspicion of providing logistical support to suspected Lakurawa terrorists.

    He stated that credible intelligence by Police personnel on special duty at Bakin Ruwa in Bagudo Local Government Area arrested one Ayuba Ibrahim, a resident of Bakin Ruwa and the suspect is alleged to have been providing support to criminal elements operating within the area.

    The Police Commissioner said successes recorded are products of intelligence gathering, dedication of Police personnel, cooperation with sister security agencies, and the invaluable support of members of the public.

    CP Hadejia said all suspects are under investigation and will be charge to court on completion.
