Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has applauded the appointment of the Provost of the Gombe State College of Nursing Sciences, Dr. Pauline Doka, as a Member of the Governing Council of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

The Governor described the appointment as a great honour for Gombe State and a deserving recognition of Dr. Doka’s exceptional contributions to nursing education, healthcare administration, and professional development in Nigeria.
He noted that Dr. Doka’s elevation into the Governing Council of the nation’s apex nursing regulatory body further reinforces Gombe State’s reputation as a centre of excellence in healthcare training and human capital development.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya congratulated the Gombe College of Nursing Sciences Provost on the well-deserved appointment and expressed confidence in her capacity to make meaningful contributions at the national level through her wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to service.
The Governor wished her success as she assumes the important national responsibility and urged her to continue upholding the values of professionalism, excellence, and integrity for which she is widely respected.
According to a memo issued by the Federal Ministry of Health, the Governing Council will be formally inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare in Abuja on Thursday, 18thJune,2026.
