The Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, on Wednesday, 24th June 2026, paid a morale-boosting and welfare visit to KADVS personnel from Zaria Local Government currently undergoing the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS) 1,000-Personnel Conventional Training Programme at the Police College Kaduna.
A statement signed by the chief press secretary office of the Chairman, Galadima Ishaq said the training programme, which has reached an advanced stage, focuses on combat dressing, silent drill, tactical readiness, and grassroots crime prevention. It is designed to transform KADVS operatives into proactive, intelligence-driven security personnel equipped with the skills and discipline required to prevent crime, protect lives and property, and strengthen community security across Kaduna State.
Addressing the trainees, Engr. Jamil Jaga congratulated them on the successful completion of the rigorous training programme and encouraged them to remain steadfast, disciplined, and professional in the discharge of their duties.
He urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, loyalty, patriotism, courage, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.
The Chairman further admonished the operatives to carry out their responsibilities with fairness, dedication, and sacrifice, without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, or social status.
He emphasized that security personnel must always place national interest above personal considerations, maintain cordial relationships with communities, respect human rights, and serve as agents of peace, unity, and development.
Engr. Jamil Jaga also expressed satisfaction with the quality of training being provided to the personnel, noting that the programme has equipped them with valuable skills in tactical response, intelligence gathering, conflict resolution, community engagement, and crime prevention.
According to him, these competencies will greatly enhance grassroots security and strengthen public confidence in security institutions.
The Chairman used the occasion to commend the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for his unwavering commitment to strengthening security architecture across the state.
He described Governor Uba Sani as a visionary leader whose sustained investments in security, support for law enforcement agencies, recruitment and training of security personnel, provision of operational logistics, and promotion of community-based security initiatives have significantly contributed to improving safety and stability in Kaduna State.
He further praised the Governor’s inclusive approach to governance, proactive security policies, and determination to ensure that every community, whether urban or rural, enjoys adequate protection.
Engr. Jamil Jaga noted that the continuous strengthening of KADVS demonstrate Governor Uba Sani’s resolve to build a safer Kaduna where citizens can live, work, and pursue their livelihoods without fear.
The Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of Zaria Local Government Council to supporting security agencies and initiatives aimed at safeguarding lives and property. He expressed confidence that the graduating KADVS operatives would serve as a formidable force in crime prevention, community protection, and the promotion of peace and social harmony throughout Kaduna State.
