The Chairman Zaria local government Eng Jamil Mohammad jaga has hosted the major events that occurred Yesterday at the local government, describing the events as another memorable and fulfilling day in our collective journey towards a greater Zaria.
The Chairman had the honour of serving as the Chief Host at the Flag-Off Ceremony for the Distribution of Renewed Hope Fertilizer (Phase III) 2026, graciously facilitated by the Speaker of the people’s House, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON.
He said that this year’s intervention is historic, with over 100 trailers of fertilizer to be distributed across Zaria and Zone One of Kaduna State, benefiting more than 26,000 farmers.
According to him,this remarkable achievement builds on the successes of previous years- 32 trailers in 2024 to over 8,000 beneficiaries and over 55 trailers to more than 15,000 beneficiaries in 2025.
The Chairman noted that previously, Beyond fertilizer distribution, our Speaker has continued to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to agricultural development through the empowerment of our people with 100 combine threshers, 100 haulage tricycles, 84 wheel drive tractors with complete implements, 50 mini tractors with tipping body, 4,000 solar-powered water pumping machines, 1,500 petrol-powered water pumping machines, and 6,500 grinding machines.
Eng Jamil Jaga maintained that these interventions are transforming lives, strengthening food security, and improving livelihoods across our communities.
He therefore sincerely appreciated the Speaker for his outstanding leadership, generosity, and commitment to the welfare of our people.
Similarly later, in the day, the Chairman Eng Jamil Jaga had the privilege of receiving Our Leader His Excellency, Sen. Uba Sani, CON, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, for the historic Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction of 11 Township Roads within Zaria and part of Sabon Gari.
Roads to be Constructed include:
* Babban Dodo – Durumi – Kofan Kuyanbana Road
* Rimin Tsiwa – Kofan Gayan Road (Secretariat – Albarkawa – Kaura)
* Maje Road – Park Road
* Turunku Road (Sabon Gari)
* WAFF Road (Sabon Gari)
* Layin Radio Road (Tudun Wada)
* Turunku Road (Sabon Layi, Tudun Wada)
* Dadda’u Road (Layin M. Mamuda)
* Sheikh Umar Muazu Street
* Idris Majeh Street (Filin Mallawa)
He observed that these road projects will improve connectivity, stimulate economic activities, and enhance the quality of life for our people.
The Chairman also deeply appreciated the excellent partnership and shared vision between our dear leaders, the Governor and the Speaker. Their collaboration is bringing unprecedented development to Zaria and Kaduna State.
He also extended his profound gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for providing the leadership and support that continue to make these transformative projects and programmes possible, delivering the true dividends of democracy to our people.

The Chairman therefore prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to bless our leaders with wisdom, good health, and strength to serve our people,and wished everyone a safe journey back home.
