Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has congratulated an illustrious son of Gombe, Professor Abdullahi Ahmed on his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the Provost of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Vom.
In a statement signed by the DG press affairs Gombe state government house, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Governor described the appointment of the distinguished veterinary scientist and academic as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding credentials, wealth of experience and immense contributions to veterinary medicine, livestock development, research and higher education in Nigeria.
On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for entrusting an illustrious son of Gombe State with the leadership of such a strategic national institution.
He expressed confidence that Professor Ahmed would justify the confidence reposed in him through visionary leadership and dedicated service.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya assured the new Provost of the goodwill, support and solidarity of the Government and people of Gombe State as he assumes his new national assignment.
Professor Abdullahi Ahmed, who hails from Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State and holds the traditional title of Dan Lawan Deba, is a renowned Professor of Animal Production and Health.
He served for over two decades at the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom, before joining Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, where he rose to the rank of Professor in recognition of his outstanding contributions to teaching, research and academic leadership.
