The Commander Infantry Corps Nigerian Army (CIC NA), Major General Godwin Mutkut, OFR, has charged troops of Headquarters 27 Task Force Brigade, Sector 2, Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation HADIN KAI, to remain aggressive, professional, and unwaveringly committed in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations against Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the North East
A statement signed by Lieutenant Tasiu Abdullahi Abbas , Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations,27 task force brigade Buni Gari, Gujba LGA,Yobe state said the Corps Commander gave the charge, at the Brigade Headquarters, during an assessment visit to the Brigade, where he assessed the Brigade’s operational activities and interacted with officers and soldiers.
He commended the troops for their courage, resilience, and sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity despite the prevailing operational challenges.
Addressing the troops, General Godwin, emphasized that sustained operational pressure on the terrorists remains the key to denying them freedom of action. He urged the personnel to maintain a high level of vigilance, discipline, combat readiness, and offensive spirit in all operations, stressing that there should be no room for complacency in the theatre.
General Mutkut further encouraged the troops to remain law-abiding and disciplined in the discharge of their duties. He admonished them to shun social media violence, the spread of operational locations l, smoking, drug abuse, and other social vices capable of undermining operational effectiveness and the image of the Nigerian Army.
He also reassured the troops of the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to their welfare, emphasizing that good leadership remains a cornerstone of the Corps’ operational success. The Corps Commander urged them to remain loyal, professional, and steadfast in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities while maintaining the highest standards of military discipline and conduct.
While delivering his briefing, the Commander 27 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Mukhtar S. Mukhtar, welcomed the Corps Commander and expressed appreciation for the visit. He noted that the visit would further boost the morale of officers and soldiers while reaffirming the Brigade’s commitment to sustaining aggressive operations aimed at eliminating the remnants of terrorist elements within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility.
The visit included an operational briefing, inspection of facilities and equipment, interaction with troops, presentation of souvenirs, and group photographs, underscoring the Nigerian Army’s continued commitment to enhancing operational effectiveness and ensuring lasting peace and security in the North East and Nigeria at large.
