The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NILEST Dr. Auwal Mustapha Imam, FNIP has today joined the Minister of Innovations,Science and Technology Dr. Tochukwu Kingsley Udeh SAN and the Vice President of Nigeria Senator Kashim Shettima GCON, ably representing the President to commission the “Barefoot Renewable Energy College (BAREC)” development by the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) under the leadership of its Director General Dr. Mustapha Abdullah.
This was contained in a statement signed by Nuhu Bashir Masa , Personal Assistant on Media and Communication to the DG NILEST Issued to newsmen.
It said that the College is aimed at serving as a training hub for the Photovoltaic Energy training and accessories development industry. The College will immediately commence with the training of at least, 50 trainees on different photovoltaic modules until they are certified with the required skills.
The programme was attended by the Governor of Kogi state Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, former Governor Yahaya Bello, Ohonoyi of Ebira Land, APC National Working Committee, DGs of NITR and NASRDA, Senators, Members of House of Representatives, Members of Kogi state Executive Council, state House of Assembly and many Dignitaries.
The College is housed at the Confluence University Osara, Kogi state. All the Dignitaries arrived from Abuja through the Dangote Cement Airport, Obajana, Kogi State and were conveyed to Osara for the programme.
