The Corps Commander Ordnance, Major General AG Ibrahim, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Commander, Army Central Ammunition Depot Agunu (ACADA), Brigadier General EC Ineme, at the depot located in Kachia, Kaduna State.
A statement signed by Captain Odunayo Balikis Olokodana, Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Nigerian Army School of Artillery, Kachia, Kaduna State said Brigadier General Ineme warmly welcomed the Corps Commander and expressed appreciation for his visit despite a demanding schedule. He used the opportunity to brief Major General Ibrahim on some of the operational challenges currently confronting the depot.
During a comprehensive facility tour, Major General Ibrahim expressed satisfaction with the state of the installation. He commended the Commander ACADA and his team for their dedication to ensuring the maximum security of the depot and appreciated the warm reception extended to him and his entourage.
Addressing troops, the Corps Commander praised their vigilance and commitment to safeguarding the facility. He charged them to take the security of the depot even more seriously to prevent any breach and stressed the importance of maintaining physical fitness to effectively meet the security challenges facing the nation.
Major General Ibrahim also addressed the wives of soldiers, acknowledging their sacrifices and unwavering support which enable their spouses to remain mentally and emotionally focused on duty. He promised to look into their request for a secondary school within the barracks and assured them of his continued support.
The Corps Commander further commended the village heads for embracing peace and cooperating with the Commander ACADA. He encouraged them to sustain the spirit of peaceful coexistence and to continue providing timely information that would assist the Army in countering any emerging security threats within their communities.
Also present during the visit were the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Artillery, Major General AAW Hassan and the Commandant, Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology, Commodore CA Isa.
The high point of the visit was the commissioning of the ACADA Photo Stand, followed by the presentation of souvenirs and a group photograph.
