The Commander 23 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Amechi Agwu has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the Nigerian Army Traditions. Brigadier General Agwu stated this during the inspection of phase two of the facelift projects at Gibson Jalo Cantonment Yola.
This was contained in a statement signed by Captain Olusegun Abidoye , Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations 23 Brigade issued to newsmen.
It said the Commander who was at the 23 Brigade Officers’ Mess and worship centres to inspect the projects described Officers’ Mess as a recreational facility created for officers to socialize after a hard day’s job and is also the abode for Regiment’s Colour, hence, should be treated with respect and dignity. For the worship centres, the commander emphasised its key importance in the spiritual upliftment of its own personnel and families, therefore, it must be well maintained.
Brigadier General Agwu urged officers to make good use of the renovated Rotunda and other facilities provided in the Mess. The Commander used the occasion to thank the Chief of Army Staff for his continuous support to the Brigade and the provision of resources to make the Cantonment conducive for troops and their families, promising the continuous use of the available resources judiciously.
The phase two of the facelift projects include the installation of 15 KVA Solar Inverter and renovation of Rotunda at the Officers’ Mess and renovation of worship centres in the Cantonment.
