The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, has paid a visit to the University Security Division for appreciation and encouragement.
A statement from the Public Affairs directorate office of the VC said Prof Ahmed was at the headquarters of the security division at the Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria today Friday, 14th August, 2026. He was received on arrival by the Chief Security Officer, Malam Ashiru T Zango and other top personnel of the division.
Speaking, Prof Ahmed appreciated the security personnel for their tremendous services to the university.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the security personnel need to be commended as they ensure that everyone sleeps at night, while also ensuring the safety of the university properties.
He assured the personnel that the university would look into renovating their buildings and refurbishing of their offices.
The Vice-Chancellor applauded the good efforts of the Chief Security Officer and urged all the personnel to be loyal to him.
Earlier in a remark, the Chief Security Officer (CSO), Malam Ashiru T Zango, stated that before the inception of the present administration, the security division was faced with the problem of mobility and other logistics.
The CSO said with the coming of Prof Ahmed, their electric vehicles and patrol vehicles have now been fixed.
He thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for their strong support in the discharge of their duties.
In a closing remark, one of the Principal Security Officers, Mr Gabriel Ebute, lauded the enormous support the division has been getting since the coming of Prof Adamu Ahmed.
Ebuted stressed that for almost 30 years of his service to the university, he could not remember when a Vice-Chancellor came to address them until now when Prof Ahmed assumed the leadership of the university.
He said the coming of the Vice-Chancellor had boosted their morale, promising not ever fail the university.
Ebute appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and wished himwell in all endeavors.
