Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara state has launched the distribution of newly acquired official vehicle to state judicial officers.
Speaking at the event, the Governor said this procurement reflects government commitment as a fair and responsible government, aimed at ensuring the independence of our dedicated judicial officers and the proper administration of justice.
He explained that under his leadership, Zamfara State Government has invested funds in remodelling, constructing, and rehabilitating various courts, including four Small Claims Courts, the Magistrate Court Samaru, the State High Court, ten Sharia Courts across Local Government Areas, Unguwar Gwaza Higher Sharia Court, Higher Sharia Court Damba, and Federal High Courts 5 and 7, among others. About 90% of these projects have been completed.
Additionally,Dauda Lawal said his administration has cleared the backlog of statutory allowances owed to judicial officers for 2022 and 2023, expending over 600 million naira on payments covering allowances for accommodation, wardrobe, outfit, medical needs, and furniture.
The Governor therefore urged the judicial officers to see these vehicles as tools of public service and to uphold the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, and professionalism.
