Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support to Katsina State, particularly his administration’s commitment to development initiatives and bringing government projects closer to the people.
A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad chief press secretary to the Governor said,Governor Radda stated this on Wednesday during the Hawan Sallar Gani (Maulud Nabiyyi) celebration at Kofar Fadar Hausa, Daura, where he joined traditional rulers, government officials, dignitaries and residents to commemorate the occasion.
He congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), while praying for lasting peace, security and stability in Katsina State and Nigeria.
The Governor commended the Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Faruk Umar, for sustaining the Sallar Gani tradition and preserving the cultural and religious heritage of the Daura Emirate.
“We sincerely thank His Royal Highness for this wonderful and colourful celebration, and for upholding this culture and tradition that has brought us together today in peace and harmony,” he said.
Governor Radda also called on the people of Katsina State to sustain prayers for peace and security, stressing the need for unity and peaceful coexistence.
He thanked the Daura Emirate Council, traditional rulers, security agencies, government officials, dignitaries and residents for their contributions towards ensuring a peaceful and successful Sallar Gani celebration.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with traditional institutions and other stakeholders to preserve Katsina State’s rich cultural heritage while promoting peace, unity and development.
The 2026 Sallar Gani celebration in Daura was attended by Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa; Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, Iyaloja-General of Nigeria and Lagos and daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; and Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura.
Also in attendance were the Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; Sarkin Fadan Daura, Alhaji Lawal Sade, traditional title holders and District heads of Daura Emirate, members of the State Executive Council, and other top government officials.
